And it Shall Be Called Fun-Mart....

Ok, how cool is it that you can go to Walmart AND buy a funnel cake while you're there. Way Cool, I think ! We're camping...we were in the mood for crackers, cheese, a little wine and some beer and figured we'd hop down to the local Walmart to get these items. There is an Autumn Leaves festival going on in town this weekend, drawing over 200,000 people. We drove through the downtown area (or attempted to) yesterday and discovered that the whole downtown area was blocked off for a craft show, etc. We navigated out around it and headed back to camp. Nothing we need and didn't care to walk a long ways from parking spot to check it out. Meanwhile back to my Walmart story....we pull in the parking lot and there are all of these vendors set up across the front of the store. Probably around 10 vendors, one of which was the Boy Scouts, who were making funnel cakes. Set up right outside the exit door....how strategic a set-up is that ? It was very yummy...the crackers, cheese, wine and beer weren't bad either. :)

In other news...my daughter is coming to hang out with me and play nurse for a few days after I have my surgery. Her flight, from Boston, left at 8:30 this morning. Only thing is, she's not on it. Seems she thought that a 5:30 a.m. departure wasn't worth getting any sleep for and pulling an all nighter would be a better idea. Around 2:30 she said she was so exhausted that she laid down to sleep for a little bit. She and her roommates set three alarm clocks so she'd get up in time. (Guess what she's getting for Christmas) At 8:00 my phone rang and it was Becky...sun coming through the window woke her up but was too late to make her flight. She called Continental airlines and they told her to come in and see if she can get on the 11:00 flight. We'll see....if not, this will be life lesson #348 for her. More later on whether she makes it to North Carolina or not.

She made it alright, and at the regularly-scheduled time too! :)
